TrekFed, formerly the public sector division of Trek10, announces its start as a stand-alone company.

SOUTH BEND, IN FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Last week Trek10 was acquired by Caylent. In advance of that acquisition, TrekFed was spun-off as an independent company. The split enables TrekFed to leverage years of experience as an innovative small business and recognized AWS Partner to help government customers and the defense industrial base best leverage the cloud.

“TrekFed is focused on bringing commercial innovation to federal missions,” says Jim Abercrombie, CEO of TrekFed, who previously served as President and Co-Founder of Trek10. “This move ensures we can dedicate 100% of our expertise to the complex security and modernization challenges facing our government clients and the contractors who serve them.”

Defense Industrial Base

Core to TrekFed’s strategy is the emerging modernization of the defense industrial base, including supply chain resilience, AI/ML capabilities, and modelling & simulation. TrekFed has won several Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contracts in those topic areas and has commercialized two of their technologies into SBIR Phase III’s. That process shed light on the complexities of fully leveraging the cloud in highly regulated environments. “We’ve helped dozens of customers migrate to DOD approved cloud environments,” noted Abercrombie, “and we have done it with our own technologies as well. We’ve faced the challenges and are perfectly suited to help other businesses do the same.”
